Found these online (29.11.2010)
So, this post came up a bit late mostly because I spent all week watching the crew from LoadingReadyRun playing Desert Bus and raise money for Child’s Play. It was nothing short from amazing, but that meant that I couldn’t really focus on other things. But, this is what I found entertaining and worth reading this week:
- 2011 Letterpress Calendar - This is a really nice calendar.
- Happy Birthday Shorpy! - I really like it when Shorpy post photos from Lewis Hine, and this one is a really good example of why I like it.
- Daft Punk - Tron: Legacy - I like Daft Punk and I really want to see the new Tron, so having the link to the OST for it popping up in my Twitter feed was really sweet.
- Where do ideas come from? - Seth Godin’s list about where ideas come from.
- Why Media Apps Aren’t as Good a Business as They Seem - This article really puts a lot of things into perspective for a lot of media outlets. I studied journalism and one of the most touched upon subjects was that with the transition to digital staff cuts are normal. But things are not like that, and if you really want a great digital experience you have to focus on that. But this is a story for a future blog post.
- Mixtapes - A series of hand drawn mixtapes by Kate Bingaman Burt.
- Open Letter to my Friend Zeldman - A great piece on awards in the design industry written by Oliver Reichenstein.
- Content management equals continuous improvement - “too many organizations treat their website like a coalmine when they should be managing it like a goldmine”.
- Why professional logo design does not cost $5.00 - Another piece on Spec Work. The article really touches upon really important things about design work, not just logo design. Apparently I really like linking to articles about Spec Work.
